Morning Routine Checklist
-
Get up at the same time every morning.
Your body will eventually adjust…as long as you are going to bed the same time every night as well.
-
Making Your Bed Should Be On Your Morning Routine Checklist But Only…
As long as there isn’t someone still sleeping in it.
-
Workout.
If you are a morning workout person. If not, you might still want to do some light stretching to get your blood flowing.
Shower or rinse off.
I know there are many people who don’t wash their hair every day. In fact, I don’t know anyone that does this except for men. But, a quick rinse in cool water can be invigorating. Just put on a shower cap if you want to keep your hair dry.
-
Getting dressed should be on your Morning Routine Checklist.
Even if you work from home and change from pajamas into something equally as casual, the ritual will put you in a work mindset.
-
Do your hair and makeup.
Even if you work from home, you might consider doing this. It can make the difference in a productive and a non-productive day.
-
Eat breakfast.
If you are not fasting. This should have been cooked or put together the night before. Check out my evening routine checklist to help you create the best one for you.

If time permits, reading should be on your Morning Routine Checklist.
For a few minutes each morning, I read. Sometimes it’s business related, a blog post from Pinterest, a fiction book I am reading for pleasure.
Relevant Post:
-
Brush your teeth.
Some people do this when they wake up. Some wait until after breakfast. Do what you think is best for you.
-
Tidy your kitchen and put together stuff for dinner.
Pull out anything that needs a small bit of prep or thawing during the day. If you cut up a bunch of veggies for stir fry and it’s Friday night, now is a good time to pull them out of the freezer to thaw in the fridge.
-
Take vitamins.
Take these after you eat since vitamins can cause an upset stomach if it is empty.

-
Make good use of your time.
If you are going out to work, choose the Podcast, Audible book or YouTube video you will listen to on your commute. I sometimes listen to the talking head YouTubers that are not very interesting to watch but great to listen to.
-
Go over your daily goals.
Achieve what you set as a priority today.
-
Go over your bucket list or ultimate goal list.
I know this is a weird one but oftentimes we don’t review our biggest items. And we should definitely be focusing on the smaller things to achieve the bigger goals. However, it is so much fun to look at the things that we are doing this all for. I have a 13 page checklist for my bucket list. It includes places I want to go, people I would like to meet, skills and languages I would like to work on and things I will do. I take a peek at it to keep the big things fresh on my mind and for inspiration.
Though this can seem like an overwhelming morning routine checklist, once you get into the routine, it will seem like second nature. And of course, you can modify this checklist to fit your own needs.
And, there you have it, a good morning routine checklist to make sure you are set up for success all day. And believe it or not, these items are on the morning to do lists of many successful people. So, get on out there and seize the day!
